In 1986, Dr. Wortman founded a private office dedicated to providing a full range of women’s healthcare services in Rochester, NY which eventually became The Center for Menstrual Disorders (CMDRC). The Center provides very important alternatives for women in New York State, and much of the northeastern United States.
In addition to being a full-service gynecology practice open to new patients, The Center was founded to provide highly specialized care for women with a focus on the minimally invasive management of abnormal menstrual bleeding as well as compassionate and safe care for women seeking reproductive health services and specialized contraceptive options.
The Center is proudly accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Being accredited by AAAHC ensures that patient safety and welfare are our first priority. This allows us to offer treatments with IV conscious sedation in an office setting. Most procedures would otherwise be carried out in a hospital or ambulatory surgery setting.
We have two important goals in your healthcare. The first is to provide the best possible approach to your problem in our region. Our second goal is to provide you with the best possible opportunity to become educated about your particular health care issues. To this end, we have produced extensive web-based material written exclusively by Dr. Wortman which is available to you on our website. We also make use of a variety of Internet libraries and resources that are available only to physicians’ offices.
Yes, even in 2021 our highly trained professional staff will ACTUALLY answer the telephone – there is no automated telephone system! We answer our phones during the lunch hour so we can be accessible to you at YOUR convenience whenever possible. Keep in mind – you do not need a referral and you don’t have to change your gynecologist
